The short antennas have always have always looked great, especially our bullet antennas, but they have always had one short coming: radio reception. We have been trying to resolve this issue for years, and we now have 2 patents pending on improving the radio reception of these antennas. We have a booster coil inside the antenna, which now ALL our bullet antennas have, and we now have this telescopic antenna to further improve on that.
The main issue of the short antennas radio reception has always been their short size. If you are old enough you remember, radios, cordless phones, TV’s, and even cars had telescopic antennas. By lengthening the antenna you would get a better reception, and this is what we have done. When you are driving and want to use your radio, you extend the antenna out to get the best reception. When you are not using the radio, you collapse it and it looks as cool and ever! This is the best of both worlds, you get the look, and you get good reception.
This antenna also comes with the patent pending anti-theft spanner wrench, so that you can tighten it down hard enough so that it can not be removed with bare hands. When tightened down you can remove it with pliers or something of the sort, but it will damage the antenna rendering it worthless. This has resolved the theft issue with these antennas, without having to resort to Locktite, which after you put your antenna on, you had to damage it with pliers to remove it.
The VMS Racing 50 Caliber Antenna is manufactured completely from T6061 Billet Aluminum. Unlike many competitors antennas, the VMS Racing Antennas are made out of 100% CNC Machined billet aluminum, they and not made from a cheap cast aluminum mold, they will not break or chip. Easy installation, install in minutes without special tools.
Each antenna comes with a variety of adapters and studs to fit most vehicles with screw in style antennas. WILL NOT FIT vehicle equipped with power antennas.
Radio Reception Info:
Like with most aluminum short replacement antennas, you might loose some radio reception, even with this latest patent pending antenna that has 2 ways to boost your reception. this varies by vehicle and depends on the area that you live. If you live in a rural area, the reception might not be as good as with the factory antenna. Although many customers have told us that they never had any reception issues with these we wanted to state this info for reference.
